My Etsy Shop

I've found Mindfulness Magic in the process of making Mala Beads, and as a result...I now have a jewellery shop over on Etsy!

What are Mala Beads?

Malas are used for keeping count while reciting, chanting, or mentally repeating a mantra or the name or names of a deity. This sādhanā (practice) is known in Sanskrit as japa. Malas are typically made with 18, 27, 54 or 108 beads.

A Mala bead necklace is typically a string of 108 beads with one bead as the summit or head bead or Guru bead called a 'sumeru.' Malas are used as a tool to help the mind focus on meditation, or count mantras in sets of 108 repetitions. Mala beads are usually used during yoga practice and meditation as already mentioned.
